Introduction

Welcome to Better Stopwatch. By using our application, you agree to abide by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the service. If you create an account, these Terms apply to you in full, and by doing so, you consent to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. User Responsibilities

As a user, whether registered or as a guest, you agree to use Better Stopwatch solely for personal time tracking purposes. You are responsible for any data that you enter, track, or save within the platform. You agree not to engage in any activities that may harm the platform or interfere with its intended use, including but not limited to, attempting to access others' data or engaging in fraudulent activity.

2. Account Creation and Data Storage

Better Stopwatch is available to both registered users and guest users:

  • Registered Users: By creating an account, your data (such as time entries and categories) is securely saved in the cloud. This allows you to access, edit, or delete your data from any device you log into.
  • Guest Users: If you choose not to create an account, your data is stored locally on your device. Guest users can track time, create categories, name their entries, and assign categories, but all data is lost once the browser is closed or if the local storage is cleared.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details (for registered users). If you suspect that your account has been compromised, please notify us immediately.

3. User Features

Both registered and guest users can:

  • Create custom categories to organize your time entries.
  • Start and stop the stopwatch to track time.
  • Name your time entries with a specific title for future reference.
  • Assign categories to individual time entries for better organization.
However, only registered users have their data saved in the cloud, enabling them to access and manage their data across different devices. Guest users' data is only available on the local device and will be lost when the browser is closed or the local storage is cleared.

4. Data Privacy

Your data, including time entries and categories, is stored securely:

  • For Registered Users: All your data is stored securely in the cloud, protected by our privacy policy.
  • For Guest Users: Your data is stored locally on your device, and we do not store or collect any personal information for guest users.

You may request to delete your account and all related data at any time. All data associated with your account will be permanently removed if requested.

5. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we detect any violation of these Terms of Service. This includes misuse of the platform, attempting to access other users' data, or violating any other rules stated in these Terms.

You can also delete your account at any time by following the instructions in your account settings or by contacting us directly at hello@betterstopwatch.com.

6. Limitation of Liability

Better Stopwatch is provided "as is" without any warranties or guarantees. We are not responsible for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, any loss of data, interruptions to your time tracking, or the loss of data for guest users when the browser is closed or local storage is cleared.

While we strive to ensure that Better Stopwatch is functional and reliable, we do not guarantee that the platform will always be available or free from errors or interruptions.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Better Stopwatch for personal and non-commercial purposes only. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account or data to others. The platform is not intended for social or multiplayer use, and we do not allow third-party access to your data without your permission.

You are also prohibited from using Better Stopwatch to upload, track, or store any content that is illegal, harmful, or violates any third-party rights.

8. Changes to Terms of Service

We may update or change these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be notified via the app or email. You are encouraged to review the Terms periodically to stay informed about any updates.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Better Stopwatch operates. Any disputes or claims related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.

Better Stopwatch is not responsible for any user-generated content stored or processed on the platform. You are fully responsible for the content you track, store, or share. If we are notified of any violations of law, we will remove such content immediately.
